Cabirou, Miller On Super Trofeo Poles at Indy

Loris Cabirou and Joel Miller have claimed pole positions for the final two U.S.-based Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America rounds of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Reigning champion Danny Formal quickly jumped tot the top of the times, but a mid-session improvements from the Practice 2 pace-setter saw Cabirou and teammate Nico Jamin locked out the front row for ANSA, with Jamin just 0.088 seconds down on Cabirou’s 1:24.516 second benchmark.

Jamin will start Race 1 from third on the grid for Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti with points-leader Giano Taurino behind in fourth, and Jake Walker rounding out the top-five in the No. 77 Forty7 Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2.

Pro-Am pole honors went the way of Keawn Tandon, who set the sixth fastest time overall in the No. 55 Forty7 machine he shares with series debutant Hannah Grisham.

WTRAndretti saw the No. 69 crew of Anthony McIntosh and Glenn McGee sweep both qualifying sessions with McIntosh setting the pace in Q1 before McGee took over in Q2.

Meanwhile, Nick Groat claimed the pole for both races in the LB Cup class aboard the No. 57 One Motorsports machine.

Q2 saw the Pro-Am class car of Joel Miller lead a Forty7 1-2 with, with his 1:25.307 proving to be the quickest overall time across both sessions in the No. 66 Lamborghini he shoes with AJ Muss.

Jake Walker was a mere 0.079 seconds off his teammate’s pace with Ryan Norman winding up third quickest in the No 1. WTRAndretti Lamborghini.

Ernie Francis Jr. was fourth fastest with Scott Huffaker competing the top-five for WorldSpeed.

ASNA’s Stephen Sorbaro had a tumultuous qualifying, finding the Turn 1 runoff at the beginning of both sessions, and briefly stopping on track at Turn 12 in Q1 before resuming.
