Patrick Kujala set the fastest time across both practice sessions for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America at Watkins Glen.
The No. 50 O’Gara Motorsport/Change Racing/USRT driver clocked a 1:45.356 lap during Practice 2, which would stand as the quickest time of all competitors in all four classes.
Track conditions appeared to change favorably between both sessions, as drivers saw significant decreases in lap time during Practice 2.
Kujala bested his pace-setting time in Practice 1 by nearly eight-tenths by the end of Practice 2. The top three drivers in combined practice all set their fastest laps in the afternoon session
Kujala’s time narrowly edged out Patrick Liddy in the sister, Pro-Am class No. 8 O’Gara/Change/USRT Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, whose 1:45.376 lap made him the second fastest driver of the day by only two-hundredths of a second.
NOLA winner Nelson Piquet — driving solo — put his No. 30 ANSA Motorsports Lamborghini third fastest overall.
Randy Sellari was the fastest Am class driver, while Slade Stewart set the time-to-beat in the LB Cup category.
Both sessions took place on Thursday, as the single-make series heads into its third championship weekend at Watkins Glen International.
Qualifying will take place on Friday at 9:30 a.m. ET and 9:50 a.m., respectively.
The green flag will drop later that afternoon for Race 1, scheduled for 2:25 p.m. The race will be carried live on Peacock, IMSA.tv and the Lamborghini Squadra Corse website.
