Lamborghini’s Urus ST-X that will form the basis of a new racing platform next year has completed its first laps on a race track with Tony Cairoli at the wheel.

The nine-time Motocross World Champion drove the car on the pit straight at Jerez on Saturday evening during Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo prize-giving ceremony.

It marks the track debut and first public appearance for the Urus ST-X after renders of the car were released at last year’s World Final in Vallelunga, when the series was announced.

The car’s race debut will come at next year’s Lamborghini World Final at Misano, where the winners of Super Trofeo’s four classes will have the opportunity to challenge two and four-wheel motorsport celebrities.

The Urus ST-Xs will run on a special track at Misano, combining asphalt and gravel sections and designed in accordance to FIA World Rallycross Championship regulations.
