A late flyer put Kyle Marcelli atop the time sheets in the opening practice session of the weekend for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America at Road America.

The Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing driver reeled off a 2:08.633 lap time to edge out the Pro-Am class No. 51 Taurino Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo of Loris Spinelli by 0.345 seconds.

Pro class points leader Richard Antinucci was third quickest overall and second in class in his No. 27 Dream Racing Motorsport entry, followed by Kelly-Moss Road & Race’s Alec Udell.

Max Weering completed the top-five overall for MCR Racing, meanwhile.

The No. 71 Kelly-Moss Lamborghini of father-and-son pairing of Sebastian and Rhamses Carazo topped the Am class while John Hennessy was quickest of the LB Cup competitors.

The 40-minute scheduled session was interrupted for nearly 15 minutes due to an accident by the No. 62 Kelly-Moss entry of Bill Peluchiwski, who went off at the Carousel.

The session resumed with nine minutes on the clock.

Practice 2 is set for Friday at 12:15 p.m. CT followed by qualifying in the afternoon.
