Daniel Morad was quickest following the pair of practice sessions for this weekend’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America rounds at Watkins Glen International.

The super sub in the No. 29 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 drove to a best lap of 1:46.476 in Thursday morning’s dry session to outpace the No. 88 Taurino Racing entry of Giano Taurino by a considerable 1.766 seconds.

Morad is filling in for Dennis Lind this weekend, who is on CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa duty. Lind joined the team at the most recent round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, alongside full season pilot and title contender Elias De La Torre, and is expected to be back for the remainder of the season.

Darius Trinka posted the third quickest time in his No. 33 XONINE Racing entry, followed by the return of Colin Queen to the No. 4 ANSA Motorsports entry and Brandon Gdovic, driving solo in the No. 46 Precision Performance Motorsports machine.

The No. 44 Kaizen Autosport entry of Wyatt Foster was fastest in Pro-Am, with TR3’s Dean Neuls and Forty7 Motorsports driver Christopher Tasca pacing Am and LB Cup, respectively.

The opening session, run in the dry, saw a red flag for the No. 3 Forty7 entry of Jake Walker, who found the Turn 6 barriers. The car will lose its quickest time in qualifying as a result of bringing out a red.

An incident was also reported as the checkered flag came out in Turn 11 that involved the No. 27 SP Motorsports Lamborghini, while the No. 37 TR3 entry went behind the wall in Turn 1A shortly after.

The 45-minute afternoon session featured full wet conditions, following intermittent showers that began shortly after the conclusion of opening practice.

Morad was also credited with the quickest time in Practice 2, a 2:05.198, while on wet-weather Hankook tires.

The No. 94 ANSA LB Cup entry of Steven Sorbaro spun at pit in to bring out the afternoon session’s only red, and will also, as a result, lose his quickest time in qualifying tomorrow.

Kiko Porto also ran into issues in his No. 2 RAFA Racing Team entry, which pulled off course in Turn 2 and went behind the wall but did not result in a red.

The grids for the pair of 50-minute races will be set beginning at 10:30 a.m. EST, ahead of Race 1 of the weekend at 4 p.m. EST, which will be streamed live on Peacock as well as IMSA and Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s YouTube channels.
