Wesley Slimp is set for a dual series campaign in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America and the all-new Mustang Challenge with Precision Performance Motorsports.

Slimp, a race winner in Super Trofeo North America competition, has been confirmed in one of PPM’s Ford Mustang Dark Horse R entries for the inaugural season, which kicks off at Mid-Ohio in June.

“I am excited for all the new experiences entering a brand new series in its inaugural year,” said Slimp.

“Running in both Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Mustang Challenge is going to make for a busy season but with the support of everyone at Precision Performance Motorsports I have no doubt that we will bring success.”

The Mustang Challenge drive will mark Slimp’s official debut in a solo driver competition.

“This has been an opportunity that I have been chasing after,” he said. “It is a very different atmosphere being on a solo drive.”

The North Carolina-based team plans to field between two and three Mustang Challenge entries this year, with an expansion of up to five Dark Horse Rs for 2025 according to team manager Brandon Gdovic.

“We wanted to add another series to our schedule to have an in-house ladder system for up and coming drivers,” he explained.

“Mustang Challenge seemed like a good fit for our team with our experience in single make series. We’re glad to be part of a new series and looking forward to the first race of the season.”
