Pro-Am championship leaders P1 Motorsports topped the overall time sheets in the opening day of practice for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America at Virginia International Raceway.
Loris Spinelli set the pace with a 1:44.110 lap time in the No. 71 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO, having gone quickest in both practice sessions on Friday.
Spinelli, who shares the Lamborghini Broward entry with JC Perez, hold a 23-point lead through the first six rounds of the season in class.
“We have been working on the car a lot more than we normally do,” said Perez. “Unfortunately, we did not have a great last couple of races at Road America. Luck just didn’t go our way, but we have decided to come back stronger than ever. We are here this weekend trying to get the most points we can and go for the overall win.”
Trent Hindman in the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini had the fastest lap in Pro at 1:44.426 in the morning while Edoardo Piscopo in the No. 50 US RaceTronics entry took the honors in the afternoon with a time of 1:45.130.
