The grid for this weekend’s second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America at Virginia International Raceway has been bolstered by additional entries, including two new teams to the singe-make championship.
A total of 16 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo cars are entered for the pair of 50-minute races, which is part of a busy event that sees all five IMSA-sanctioned series in action for the first time this year.
Super Trofeo, which kicked off its season two weeks ago at Road America, will welcome both ANSA Motorsports and TPC Racing to the paddock for the first time.
Open-wheel rising star Neil Alberico and inaugural Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY champion Sergio Jimenez will team up in the No. 13 ANSA entry, which is entered in the growing Pro class this weekend, with the team’s No. 99 entry of Patrick Madsen-Otto and Danny Formal in Pro-Am.
TPC Racing, meanwhile, will field a single Huracan Super Trofeo Evo for Tom Kerr in LB Cup.
Another addition comes in the form of a fourth Wayne Taylor Racing-run Lamborghini for Lance Willsey, which along with Change Racing, will now have entries in all four classes.
Road America Race 1 winner Madison Snow will be without his co-driver Bryan Sellers this weekend, with Sellers opting to put his full focus on Paul Miller Racing’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship return in the team’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.
Snow comes into the weekend tied for the Pro championship lead with US RaceTronic’s Steven Aghakhani and Jacob Eidson, who picked up top honors in Race 2 at Road America.
The first race at VIR takes place on Saturday at 11:50 a.m. ET, while Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 12:55 p.m.
Both races can be streamed live on IMSA.com/TVLive with IMSA Radio commentary covering each session throughout the weekend.
