Danny Formal and Kyle Marcelli have taken victory in the second and final Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America race of the weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park.

Formal, in the No. 1 Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, got around the No. 88 Taurino Racing by D Motorsports entry of Giano Taurino with 15 minutes to go in the 50-minute contest.

Taurino inherited the overall and Pro class lead following the mid-race pit stops following an impressive opening stint by co-driver Loris Spinelli.

Spinelli took over the point from pole-sitter Marcelli just moments prior to the race’s first full-course caution for Luke Berkeley, whose Dream Racing entry stopped on track after contact from the No. 53 WTR Lamborghini of Jordan Missig.

A second yellow was deployed for the No. 45 TR3 Racing entry of Caesar Bacarella, which also stopped on track in a separate incident.

Formal finished 9.013 seconds ahead of the No. 27 Dream Racing entry of Edoardo Liberati, who got around Taurino on the final lap.

Last-lap contact involving Taurino saw Patrick Kujala sneak through for the final podium position in the No. 50 O’Gara Motorsport/Change Racing/USRT entry he shared with Edoardo Piscopo.

Taurino, meanwhile, is provisionally classified fifth overall.

WTR’s Formal and Marcelli re-take the Pro class points lead as a result of their second win of the season.

Pro-Am class honors went to the No. 47 Precision Performance Motorsports entry of Bryan Ortiz and Sebastian Carazo, in a weekend sweep for the PPM squad, which saw its sister No. 46 Lamborghini win on Saturday.

The No. 19 MCR Racing Lamborghini of Shehan Chandrasoma took the victory in the Am class in Race 2 while Ofir Levy and Jon Hirshberg claimed top honors in LB Cup in their O’Gara Motorsport/Change Racing/USRT entry.

Levy held off the No. 14 Flying Lizard Motorsports “Sparklefarts” entry of Slade Stewart for the class win.
