Cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and former Top Gear host Chris Harris have been confirmed as the first two drivers for the ‘Dark Horse Stars’ class in next month’s Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational.

Hoy, who took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 in an Algarve Pro Racing-entered LMP2 car, and popular TV presenter Harris, will each take a race in the No. 77 Mustang Dark Horse R over the June 11-14 event at Circuit de la Sarthe.

They are the first two officially confirmed drivers that is also expected to include Ford Motor Company CEO Jim Farley in the special third class for the non-points Le Mans round, alongside the ‘Dark Horse’ and ‘Dark Horse Legends’ categories that are utilized in the IMSA-sanctioned Mustang Challenge series.

The announcement for Hoy and Harris came on Wednesday via social media.

Of note, Hoy, 49, is battling stage four prostate cancer.

A full entry list for the event is expected to be released in the coming week and is set to feature upwards of 40 cars.
