Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America will make history this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca when it becomes the first professional series to hold a points-paying round at Porsche Rennsport Reunion.

Rounds 13 and 14 of the single-make Porsche championship will headline a list of historic Porsche race car run and exhibition groups at the world’s largest gathering of Porsche enthusiasts.

A total of 37 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars are entered for the pair of 40-minute races, to be held on Sunday, including a season-high 21 entries in the Pro class.

While Riley Dickinson has already clinched the Pro title, bragging rights will be on hand for race wins in the penultimate Carrera Cup weekend of the season.

Dickinson, the driver of the No. 53 Kellymoss Porsche, holds an insurmountable 146-point margin over McElrea Racing’s Tom Sargent in second place and is 149 points up on Will Martin of JDX Racing, who has visited victory lane on two occasions this year.

Sargent, who is still seeking his first win in Carrera Cup North America competition, will have a new teammate in countryman Bayley Hall in the No. 24 Porsche, who replaces Thomas Nepveu for the remainder of the season.

MDK Motorsports, meanwhile, has added Nick Boulle to its lineup this weekend, while Michael Cooper will make his return as Accelerating Performance returns to series competition that will also see Moisey Uretsky back in the Pro-Am class.

Porsche Deluxe Female Development Program member Sabre Cook’s participation is in question, with the driver of the No. 37 Kellymoss Porsche to-be-determined.

The eight-car Pro-Am class is headed by Dickinson’s teammate Efrin Castro, who holds a 64-point lead over Marco Cirone, who is currently not entered for Rennsport this weekend.

MDK’s Scott Noble and Mark Kvamme continue to fight for the Am class title, with the gap being just 18 points entering the weekend.

Track action for Carrera Cup competitors kicks off with a practice session on Friday, followed by a second session and qualifying on Saturday and the two feature races on Sunday at 9:05 a.m. PDT and 3:35 p.m., respectively.

Both will be streamed live on PorscheCarreraCup.us, IMSA.tv and Peacock, with Nick Tandy joining John Hindhaugh in the booth to help call Race 2.
