Mark Kvamme, Jimmy Llibre, Scott Noble and Jason Hart have been confirmed as drivers for MDK Motorsports’ Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands program in 2023.

The Ohio-based team, which took the wraps off its newly remodeled shop this week, will field a total of four cars in the single-make series, with team owner/driver Kvamme set to defend his Am class championship.

Llibre, who won the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America by Yokohama title, will step up to Carrera Cup competition in the Pro class alongside Hart, with Noble set to contest the Am category.

The team, managed by Will Bamber, campaigned two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars for the majority of the Carrera Cup season this year.

“I’m excited to continue building our MDK Motorsports team and not only return with Jimmy Llibre as a teammate, but also having the opportunity to race with Jason Hart and Scott Noble,” Kvamme said.

“Jason and I raced together at Le Mans this year and I was very impressed with his talent and dedication to his craft.

“Scott won the SRO GT4 championship in his first full year of racing – a remarkable achievement.

“We are thrilled to kick off the Porsche Carrera Cup season in just several short months, and I look forward to drive for back-to-back championships in our Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.”

Hart added: “After racing at Le Mans this year with Mark Kvamme, I became aware of his efforts with MDK Motorsports.

“What MDK is doing is second-to-none and it is truly a first class operation from every aspect.

“As Scott Noble began to look on to the next step after our GT4 championship, his interest grew into Porsche Carrera Cup.

“The 992 GT3 Cup is a joy to drive and being able to race without Balance of Performance was very attractive. Racing in a field this deep is exactly what we were looking for.

“We are both excited about the challenge, growth and experience we are up for in 2023. Partnering with MDK will ensure success on all levels.”

The team’s shop, formerly owned by Meyer Shank Racing, has been remodeled to now include 12 car bays, a three-transporter bay garage, a lounge for simulators, dedicated conference rooms and offices for staff, a climate-controlled area for tire supplies and dynos for damper and spring testing.

The shop also features a “member-only” speakeasy.

Formula 1 start Kevin Magnussen, who was recently announced as part of the team’s lineup for December’s Gulf 12 Hours, was on hand for the ribbon-cutting on Tuesday.

Magnussen will additionally be serving as a brand ambassador for the team, which has confirmed additional programs in the new-f0r-2023 Toyota GR Cup and plans for a Porsche 911 GT3 R in a yet-to-be-confirmed series with Trenton Estep as one of the drivers.
