Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by the Cayman Islands Pro-Am class champion Efrin Castro has signed with Kelly-Moss Road & Race for the 2022 season.

Castro joins fellow ex-Hardpoint driver Riley Dickinson as confirmed drivers with the Wisconsin-based team for this year.

“I feel incredibly blessed to be able to race with Kelly-Moss. It’s such an honor,” Castro said. “They have so much to offer with their abundance of racing knowledge and track experience. I’m really looking forward to developing my driving skill with them.”

Castro, who began racing in 2017, finished fourth in the 2017 Cayman GT4 Trophy East series before winning the championship the following year.

He moved to IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA competition in 2019, where he finished runner-up in 2020 prior to becoming part of Hardpoint’s two-car effort in Carrera Cup North America last year, where he won the Pro-Am title.

“I’m excited to increase my skill level with the 992,” he said. “Eventually I want to race in the Pro-Am European Super Cup Series.”

This year Castro will be running a pink car to raise awareness for breast cancer.

“It’s a tribute to my best friend who’s mother passed away from breast cancer when he was very young, as well as my daughter’s best friend who’s currently battling breast cancer,” Castro said.

“There will be a QR code on the wrap of the car that people can scan and donate directly to breast cancer research.”

Kelly-Moss CEO Andy Kilcoyne added: “We are beyond thrilled to have Efrin join the Kelly-Moss family. We look forward to continuing to hone and refine Efrin’s skill set to prepare him for his future goals of racing in Europe.”
