The new IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge will debut with a six-event calendar for the new sprint series comprising currently homologated LMP3 and GT4 race cars.

Each event will include two classes – LMP3 and GSX (GT4) – with 45-minute sprint races and no pit stops.

To be eligible, drivers must be either Bronze- or Silver-rated and all cars will ride on Michelin tires.

The first confirmed event for 2023 will be at Sebring International Raceway on the weekend of March 11-12 as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship Prologue test.

Four additional events will run as a companion to the WeatherTech Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Virginia International Raceway and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

A sixth event remains to be confirmed.

Of note, IMSA did not confirm the series that will join the NASCAR Cup Series on the streets of Chicago on July 1.

May 12-14 — WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca
