Dennis Olsen is parting ways with Porsche, ending an eight-year relationship that saw the Norwegian driver go from single-make competition to top-level GT3 racing with the German brand.

Olsen, who raced in DTM with Manthey EMA this past season, confirmed through a statement on his personal Instagram that he will be leaving the German manufacturer.

“Thank you for eight amazing years together,” he wrote.

“I am forever grateful for the opportunity you have given me, but today it’s time to say goodbye.

“Thank you to all of the people involved in the projects we have done together. News about my future will be announced at a later date.”

Olsen first began racing Porsches in single-make championships in 2016 before winning Porsche Carrera Cup Germany a year later.

From there, he graduated to GT3 competition and won the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli drivers’ title in 2019.

Further seasons would see Olsen compete in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Nürburgring 24.

Additionally, he teamed with Sven Mueller and Mathieu Jaminet as part of Porsche’s factory GTE-Pro squad at Le Mans in 2019.

In 2022, Olsen moved to DTM with SSR Performance, taking his maiden series win at Spa-Francorchamps as part of a rookie campaign that yielded two further podium finishes.

When SSR switched to Lamborghini machinery for the following season, Olsen was chosen to join Thomas Preining to form Manthey EMA’s lineup.

He scored two more podiums en route to seventh in the standings, while Preining would go on to win the championship by defeating Mirko Bortolotti at the Hockenheim finale.
