Inter Europol Competition has named its full driving squad for a four-car assault on the Asian Le Mans Series including American youngsters Nolan Siegel and Christian Bogle who are set for their LMP2 debuts.
The Polish squad will run a single Oreca 07 Gibson in the top LMP2 class and three Ligier JS P320 Nissans in the LMP3 category.
As was the case the last two years, the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series will consist of two double-header race weekends at Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit in February.
Siegel and Bogle will share the No. 43 Oreca with Charles Crews, forming an all-American lineup.
Siegel won two races of this year’s Indy Pro 2000 Championship but also ventured into sports cars, driving for Muehlner Motorsports in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and JR III Racing at Watkins Glen and Motul Petit Le mans.
Bogle, 21, competed full-time in Indy Lights for Dale Coyne Racing and finished 11th in the standings, with his best result being fourth place at Detroit Belle Isle.
Crews, meanwhile, was the Bronze-rated member of the Inter Europol crew that narrowly missed out on this year’s European Le Mans Series LMP3 title to Cool Racing.
Inter Europol’s No. 53 Ligier will be driven by Miguel Cristovao, Kai Askey and Wyatt Brichacek.
Portugal’s Cristoavo did some LMP3 racing this year with Eurointernational and also has GT4 experience, while British racer Askey entered some LMP3 races this year with TS Corse after previously appearing in British Formula 4.
22-year-old Brichacek from the U.S. is making his sports car racing debut off the back of two consecutive Indy Pro 2000 Championship campaigns.
The No. 63 Ligier lineup consists of James Dayson, Adam Ali and Daniel Ali.
Experienced Canadian competitor Dayson drove for the same team in ELMS this year, whereas the Ali brothers are new to car racing but have tested for Inter Europol.
Finally, the No. 73 Ligier will be driven by James Winslow, John Corbett and Alex Bukhantsov.
Winslow represented Inter Europol in the 2019-20 Asian LMS season and finished fifth in the LMP2 standings when the team was running a Ligier JS P217 Gibson.
Fellow Asian LMS regular Corbett was part of the team’s LMP3 lineup during that same campaign but drove for LMP2 squad ARC Bratislava this year.
Bukhantsov, meanwhile, was part of the Inter Europol LMP3 crew in the 2022 season but only contested the Dubai rounds before Dayson stepped in for the Yas Marina races.
Inter Europol is returning to the top category of Asian LMS for the first time since 2019-20.
It skipped the first United Arab Emirates-based season in 2021 but returned with a single LMP3 car this year.
“We’re happy to have four cars in the Asian Le Mans Series and we’re looking forward to this adventure in the Middle East at the beginning of the year,” said team manager Sascha Fassbender.
“We have a very competitive driver lineup and our objective is to fight hard in both LMP2, and LMP3 categories, for race wins and the titles.
“We appreciate, and look forward to the competition in the series, as it is the perfect preparation for our future 2023 programs.”
