Greaves Motorsport will expand into the new LMP3 ranks for 2015, with the British squad confirming Wednesday a single-car Ginetta-Juno for the European Le Mans Series season.
The team has signed 2014 Radical European Masters Champion Bradley Smith as its first driver for the new effort, which will debut at the season-opening Four Hours of Silverstone on April 11.
“This is an exciting development for the team, signing a major talent like Bradley and acquiring the Ginetta-Juno LMP3 will give us an edge in what is sure to be a very competitive class,” said team manager Jacob Greaves. We are really looking forward to the 2015 season.”
Smith is a multi-time champion and race winner in the Radical series over the past three seasons, having also competed in this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona as part of the Sunoco Daytona Challenge program.
“Last year was a great year for me winning the Radical European Championship at my first attempt and hopefully we can carry over that momentum with Greaves Motorsport and be just as successful in the European Le Mans Series,” Smith said.
Greaves is the third team to officially commit to the new-for-2015 LMP3 class, joining Team RLR an Team LNT with the Ginetta-Juno car.
