BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS has completed its lineup for the Four Hours of Estoril with French driver Henry Hassid, the team announced Friday.

The French driver will join the team’s regular drivers Bas Leinders and Markus Palttala in the No. 87 BMW Z4 GT3 for the European Le Mans Series season finale in two weeks.

Hassid raced in the Blancpain Endurance Series this season with Marc VDS driver Nick Catsburg, claiming two wins in the Pro-Am Cup this year and finishing fourth in the Pro-Am Cup standings. He also took part in the opening round of the ELMS season at Silverstone, racing the Sébastien Loeb Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra.

“I’m very pleased to be back in the ELMS at Estoril. I know the BMW Z4 GT3 really well, and I’m excited to race with Marc VDS,” said Hassid. “They’ve proved to be a very professional team over the last few years and we hope to battle with the Ferrari – so far they’ve been unbeatable in the series.”

“Estoril is a nice track, and should suit the BMW Z4 GT3, so the package looks very good. I’ve raced here before and there’s always a great atmosphere.”

“I’m very excited to welcome a new driver to the team. Henry has a huge amount of experience and has shown real quality in his driving with the BMW Z4 GT3,” added team principal and driver Bas Leinders.

“It’s going to be a fun experience, taking on the ELMS, because it’s a strong field and a totally different challenge to our recent racing.”
