Iron Lynx – Proton will field an unchanged LMP2 lineup in the European Le Mans Series, spearheaded by former Lamborghini factory driver Matteo Cairoli.

Cairoli will share the No. 9 Oreca 07 Gibson with Jonas Ried, son of Proton Competition team principal Christian Ried, and Maceo Capietto.

The trio took a breakthrough race win at last year’s 4 Hours of Mugello, but finished eighth in the LMP2 standings after a pair of retirements in the early stages of the season.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Proton for the ELMS LMP2 program after the promise we showed last season,” said team principal Andrea Piccini.

“We think there is room to make more steps forward, and having the same lineup of drivers will help us leverage the work we have done so far.

“We trust Jonas, Maceo, and Matteo, and we look forward to supporting them in their championship run.”

In addition to its LMP2 car, Iron Lynx will continue to have a presence in ELMS’s GT ranks through its single-car Mercedes-AMG effort in LMGT3.

The ELMS season kicks off with the 4 Hours of Barcelona on April 6.
