Nico Jamin has joined Panis Racing for the upcoming European Le Mans Series season, replacing Rene Binder in the team’s Oreca 07 Gibson.

The Frenchman will share the car with returning drivers Will Stevens and Julien Canal.

The team was renamed Panis Racing during the off-season after the departure of Fabien Barthez, but is still led by Olivier Panis, Sarah and Simon Abadie.

Jamin drove for Duqueine Engineering last year but himself has been replaced in an entirely new lineup for 2020.

“I am extremely happy and excited to join Panis Racing,” said Jamin. “I was very warmly welcomed by the whole team during my visit to the workshop based in Toulouse. I already feel part of the family!

“The team has already shown its huge potential in the past ELMS seasons and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I really believe we have the technical package and the crew to fight for the championship!

“I’m looking forward to working with Will, as he is a true reference in the LMP2 endurance field, and Julien is a top-level Silver driver with a lot of experience in this car.”

Last year, Canal, Stevens and Binder finished 11th in the standings after a difficult campaign that was interrupted by a mid-season chassis switch from the Ligier JS P217 to Oreca 07.
