Newblood By Morand Racing drew the first blood this morning when they set the fastest time in Tuesday morning’s first test session at Paul Ricard.

Christian Klien set the fastest lap of the morning of 1:48.764 in the No. 43 Morgan Judd. The Austrian was over six tenths of a second quicker than Signatech Alpine’s Nelson Panciatici and Thiriet by TDS Racing’s Ludovic Badey.

Four cars finished the morning session within a second of each other, with Morgan taking three out of four places. The Jota Sport and Greaves Motorsport Zyteks completed the top six.

Initially fastest the Signatech Alpine Nissan brought out the red flag towards the end of the session. Paul Loup Chatin went off the track, trying to avoid a slower competitor, and hit the barrier with the right rear of the Alpine A450 Nissan.

In GTE, it was the No. 55 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia of Michele Rugolo that was quickest with a 1:56.330. SMP Racing’s Andrea Bertolini ended the session just 0.046s behind.

Pro GT by Almeras topped the time charts in GTC, the No. 93 Porsche 997 GT3 R of Franck Perera set a fastest lap of 1:57.089.
