Portimao will remain on the European Le Mans Series calendar until the end of the 2025 season following the extension of an agreement between the circuit and championship organizer Le Mans Endurance Management.
Algarve International Circuit has been part of the schedule since 2017, when it replaced Estoril as the Portuguese venue to host the ELMS season finale.
It has held that position ever since and will round off the current season with a four-hour race on Sunday.
“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with the management here at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve for the ELMS package to return to Portimao for the next three seasons,” said ELMS CEO Frederic Lequien.
“I would like to extend my thanks to CEO Paulo Pinheiro and his team for providing us with a great venue to host the ELMS.”
Pinheiro added: “It is with great pride that we have renewed for three more seasons with European Le Mans Series.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome this organization and teams on our circuit, especially for the championship final.
“We thank you once again for the trust that CEO Frédéric Lequien and his team have in our work.”
As announced earlier this month, Portimao will host next year’s season finale on Oct. 23.
It was originally scheduled for the preceding weekend but was pushed back to avoid a date clash with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship final round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
