A new team will be on the grid in the European Le Mans Series next year, with SO24! by Lombard Racing announcing Thursday plans to contest the championship with a pair of Ligier prototypes.
The Dominique Payne and Jean Lombard-run operation will field both a Ligier JS P2 and Ligier JS P3, with plans to also submit a LMP2 entry request for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Vincent Capillaire, who had SO24! backing throughout his rookie season in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Signatech Alpine, and Olivier Lombard have been named two of the drivers for the LMP2 effort.
For Lombard, it marks a return to prototype competition after being part of Bentley Team HTP’s effort in the Blancpain Sprint Series this year.
Thomas Dagoneau, meanwhile, has been confirmed in the LMP3 entry, to be joined by two other yet-to-be-confirmed drivers.
The Le Mans-based team will have a full presentation in March.
