Nick Yelloly will remain a part of Nielsen Racing’s LMP2 Pro-Am lineup for the remainder of the season, the team has confirmed.
The BMW factory driver made his LMP2 debut during the previous round of Spa-Francorchamps, piloting the No. 24 Oreca 07 Gibson alongside John Falb and Colin Noble.
Yelloly was initially brought in as a substitute for Albert Costa as the Spaniard had clashing commitments with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
However, with Costa having announced his parting ways with the team via a social media post last month, Nielsen has opted to retain Yelloly for the upcoming 4 Hours of Mugello as well as the season finale in Portimao in October.
Additionally, the team has announced that its No. 27 car will run as a two-driver entry for the Mugello round, with David Heinemeier Hansson absent due to business commitments.
That leaves Benjamin Pedersen to team up with Will Stevens, with the Dane set for his second LMP2 appearance. Heinemeier Hansson will return to the lineup at Portimao.
