The FIA and ACO have confirmed their partnership will extend at least for the next three years  for the FIA World Endurance Championship through 2017. FIA President Jean Todt and ACO President Pierre Fillon were on hand to confirm the agreement.

“We are delighted to renew and extend for three years; this is great news for everyone,” Fillon said.

Added Todt, “Today, we are here with a lot of satisfaction after the first three years. I’m never satisfied … we always continue to work toward more ambitious objectives. But if we sit here and look for a minute, things are progressing well.”

Neither organization provided any hint of any future manufacturer announcements, but did praise the efforts of all those manufacturers and privateers currently involved in the WEC.

The FIA WEC was first announced ahead of the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans.
