After a day dominated by Toyota, LMP1 rival Audi showed its hand in the third and final practice session prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s Six Hours of Bahrain.

Loic Duval topped the time sheets in the 60-minute session, peddling his No. 2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro to a best time of 1:42.479, the quickest of the weekend thus far.

The soon-to-be-crowned FIA WEC champion edged out the Stephane Sarrazin-driven No. 8 Toyota TS030 Hybrid by a hefty 1.392 seconds, with the No. 1 Audi of Andre Lotterer third quickest.

LMP2 was led by G-Drive Racing’s Mike Conway, who reeled off a 1:50.341 lap time, leading an Oreca-Nissan 1-2-3 in class.

Quickest of the Morgans was the No. 24 OAK Racing entry of Olivier Pla, Alex Brundle and David Heinemeier Hansson in fourth.

The No. 99 Aston Martin Vantage V8 of Pedro Lamy, Richie Stanaway and Bruno Senna led GTE-Pro, while a quick lap by Proton Competition’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR put the German squad atop the GTE-Am time sheets.

Qualifying is set to get underway at 3:45 p.m. local time.
