Sean Gelael will join United Autosports’ McLaren LMGT3 effort in the FIA World Endurance Championship, jumping ship from Team WRT along with co-driver Darren Leung.

After Leung was confirmed on Thursday to be joining the Anglo-American squad, Gelael will be completing the lineup for the No. 95 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo along with Marino Sato.

“I am super excited to be in a car with United Autosports after being long-term rivals,” said Gelael.

“I think it will be a really good experience and a strong opportunity to win the championship after finishing second twice – fifth time is the charm!

“I’m looking forward to racing with Marino for the first time and, of course, to work with Darren again after some great highlights together in 2024.

“It’s great to be a part of the McLaren family. Let’s build something long lasting and something great.”

Gelael will be embarking on his fifth consecutive WEC season, having won three races and finishing runner-up in the LMP2 standings twice.

“It’s fantastic to have Sean on board for the 2025 season,” said United Autosports CEO Richard Dean.

“After years of competing against each other in LMP2 and LMGT3, we now have his speed, skill and determination on our side.

“Together with Darren and Marino, we have an incredibly competitive driver line-up in the #95 McLaren. It’s a very real WEC championship contender.”
