Darren Leung will make the switch from Team WRT to United Autosports in the FIA World Endurance Championship, signing on with the British squad’s McLaren LMGT3 effort.

Leung, whose resume includes a WEC class win at Imola, a podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as titles in Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and the British GT Championship, will pilot the No. 95 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

The move will mark the first time since debuting in GT3 that the 37-year-old will compete in anything other than BMW machinery.

Leung notably sampled the McLaren during the post-season WEC rookie test in Bahrain.

The Bronze-rated driver is set to team up with Marino Sato, who was confirmed to be staying with the team’s LMGT3 program for a second season in November.

“I am delighted to join United Autosports and McLaren for the 2025 World Endurance Championship season,” said Leung.

“Their commitment to their WEC program is truly inspiring, and I’m eager to contribute to the team’s efforts as we take on some of the most iconic circuits in the world.”

While the WEC campaign kicks off with the Qatar 1812km in February, Leung will start his 2025 season at next week’s Michelin 24H Dubai, teaming up with Ahmad Al Harthy, Josh Caygill, Rob Collard and Toby Sowery aboard a Paradine Competition BMW M4 GT3 Evo.
