Glickenhaus Racing will miss the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship season at Fuji Speedway, according to a 36-car entry list for the event in September.

The American squad, which runs its Hypercar program with support from Podium Advanced Technologies and Joest Racing, will skip the WEC’s overseas leg to Japan for the second season in a row.

It leaves a 12-car entry list in the Hypercar class with Floyd Vanwall Racing Team being the only competitor running a non-hybrid LMH car.

A single Glickenhaus 007 Pipo contested the opening five rounds of the campaign, while a second joined for the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the team finished sixth and seventh.

Jim Glickenhaus recently told Sportscar365 that there had not been a decision about his team’s Fuji participation with this week’s deadline for sea freight to Japan looming.

He also said that an injection of funding is required to make upgrades that would keep the Glickenhaus 007 Pipo on the grid next season.

Olivier Pla and Romain Dumas, who have driven for Glickenhaus in all of its appearances this year, are ninth in the FIA Hypercar Drivers World Endurance Championship table.

There are no other Hypercar lineup changes for Fuji which sees the usual two-car efforts from Toyota Gazoo Racing, AF Corse,  Peugeot Sport and Porsche Penske Motorsport.

There are also the single-car entries for Cadillac team Chip Ganassi Racing, Vanwall and Porsche customers Proton Competition and Hertz Team JOTA.

Despite the absence of Glickenhaus, the 36-car grid number from Monza is maintained through the return of the No. 98 NorthWest AMR Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

That car missed the 6 Hours of Monza due to a scheduling overlap for its operating team The Heart of Racing on a weekend that also included an IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

Alex Riberas, Daniel Mancinelli and Ian James will share the No. 98 Aston Martin as they did at Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans.

Several others who were affected by date clashes on the Monza weekend are returning to their normal WEC duties for the Fuji race, including PJ Hyett and Gunnar Jeannette who are sharing the Team Project 1-AO Porsche 911 RSR-19 with Matteo Cairoli.

Filipe Albuquerque and Tom Blomqvist, who drive in the WeatherTech Championship’s GTP class, are back with United Autosports in LMP2 as planned.

Mirko Bortolotti is also set to return to the No. 63 Prema Oreca 07 Gibson and Daniel Serra is listed in the Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, after they skipped Monza due to DTM and Stock Car Pro Series date clashes respectively.
