Makowiecki, Christensen Set for Porsche 919 Hybrid Test

Porsche Team Manthey driver Fred Makowiecki and Porsche North America’s Michael Christensen are set to turn their first laps in a Porsche 919 Hybrid next week at Magny-Cours.

The factory GT drivers have been given an opportunity to test the LMP1-H car at the French circuit, prior to the FIA WEC returning to action at Circuit of The Americas later this month.

GT standout Makowiecki boasts previous prototype experience, having been in the frame for a factory Peugeot drive and had successfully tested the Peugeot 908 prior to the manufacturer’s withdrawal from LMP1 in 2012.

For 24-year-old Christensen, it will mark his first time at the wheel of a LMP1 car.

Both drivers earned works status with the German manufacturer this year, competing in the FIA WEC and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, respectively.
