U.S. sports car racing fans not making the trip to Circuit of The Americas later this month for the Lone Star Le Mans weekend will be able to follow the FIA World Endurance Championship round, live and in it’s entirety on TV, for the first time.

The FIA WEC has confirmed that the Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas will be televised live on FOX Sports 2.

Coverage will begin on Sat. Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. ET for the start and carry through the checkered flag at midnight ET.

It will mark the first FIA WEC round, other than the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to be televised live in North America.

“Having a major TV network broadcast the 6 Hours of COTA live is very exciting and a big step forward in the promotion of the FIA World Endurance Championship brand in the USA,” said Gerard Neveu, CEO of the FIA WEC.

“The USA is a very important market to us and our partners and it is a reflection of the growing interest in endurance racing that the US round of the FIA WEC will have live TV coverage on Fox Sports 2.

“We are looking forward to traveling to Texas to start the second half of the FIA WEC season in just over one week’s time.”
