Peugeot has revised its drivers crews ahead of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season, with Nico Mueller and Paul di Resta effectively swapping places in the French marque’s lineup.

Mueller was part of the No. 94 Peugeot crew for the 2023 campaign alongside Loic Duval and Gustavo Menezes, who was dropped in favour of Stoffel Vandoorne for this season.

However, Mueller has now been shuffled across to join Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Eric Vergne in the No. 93 Peugeot 9X8.

Di Resta meanwhile has moved in the opposite direction and will join Duval and Vandoorne in the sister No. 94 machine.

Malthe Jakobsen, who was added to the Peugeot stable as a junior driver last year, will serve as the manufacturer’s reserve driver.

Peugeot’s technical director Oliver Jansonnie explained the change by saying: “The standard in the FIA WEC is such that you cannot afford to neglect any aspect and so we have worked during the off-season on trying to improve everywhere we can.

“The make-up of the crews is an important piece of the jigsaw and having studied race and test data, we were convinced we could fine-tune the line-ups.

“We are lucky to have six highly talented drivers, so we decided to optimise each car by grouping together the drivers in terms of their set-up preferences, the aim being to deliver improved performance.”

Peugeot is expected to reveal a significantly revised 9X8 for the upcoming season, most likely featuring a rear wing, after it was spotted testing with more a conventional aero configuration over the winter.
