Porsche has picked up the pace, with its two 919 Hybrids topping the time charts in the third and final practice session prior to qualifying for Sunday’s FIA WEC season-opening Six Hours of Silverstone.

Ex-F1 star Mark Webber led the way,  reeling off a 1:42.837 lap time in the No. 20 entry early in the 60-minute session. It was 0.150 seconds quicker than the sister No. 14 Porsche of Romain Dumas in second, both times the quickest of the weekend thus far.

The two Audi R18 e-tron quattros were third and fourth quickest overall, followed by the pair of Toyotas, with the No. 8 T040 Hybrid only completing three laps due to a supercapacitor change.

Another car to hit trouble was the No. 12 Rebellion Racing Lola B12/60 Toyota of Mathias Beche, who stopped on track with an apparent engine problem. It brought out the only red flag of the session.

G-Drive Racing was again quickest in LMP2, with the OAK Racing-run No. 26 Morgan-Nissan setting a 1:49.484 lap time.

AF Corse, meanwhile, topped the time charts in both GTE-Pro and GTE-Am.

Qualifying gets underway at 12 p.m. local.
