Le Mans Endurance Management and Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps have extended their agreement for the Belgian track to host the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series for another five years.
Spa will feature on both series’ schedules through 2028, as announced during the inauguration of a new grandstand overlooking the endurance pit straight on Thursday evening.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps has been an ever-present fixture of the WEC calendar, forming part of each season since the inaugural 2012 campaign. It has also been part of the ELMS schedule since 2016.
“Stability across our championships is extremely important and to continue our relationship with Spa-Francorchamps is a great honor,” said LMEM CEO Frederic Lequien.
“The circuit has been a regular fixture in both the WEC and ELMS calendars for many years and provides teams and fans with excellent racing and world-class facilities.
“There is no denying that it is one of the drivers’ favorite venues, and the track is truly unique which always provides thrilling action.
“We have witnessed some incredible races in WEC and ELMS over the years and thanks to the team at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps, we can now look forward to many more to follow.”
The confirmation of the Spa deal extension locks in a fourth confirmed venue on next season’s eight-race WEC calendar along with the 6 Hours of Qatar, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the season finale in Bahrain.
