Vautier Joins SARD-Morand for Silverstone, Spa

Tristan Vautier will make his FIA World Endurance Championship debut in the opening two rounds, as third driver of the No. 43 Morgan EVO SARD for Team SARD-Morand.

The Frenchman will join fellow open-wheel veteran Oliver Webb and Pierre Ragues at Silverstone and Spa. The winner of the team’s Race to 24 competition will take over the ride from the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the remainder of the season.

Vautier has LMP2 experience with the SpeedSource Mazda team, after running in the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup rounds of the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season.

He looks to make an impression on an international scale after his success in the U.S., which included Pro Mazda and Indy Lights championships and IndyCar rookie-of-the-year honors over three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013.

“It is an honor to join Team SARD-MORAND for these two events and to compete in my very first FIA WEC races,” Vautier said.

“I would like to thank Benoit (Morand) and his partners for this opportunity. With Oliver and Pierre we have a very good line-up and and I am looking forward to starting work with the whole team.”

The team is still yet to announce the third driver of the sister No. 39 entry, alongside Christian Klien and Koki Saga.
