Villorba Corse has been rebranded as Cetilar Racing while confirming plans to enter the FIA World Endurance Championship with a full-season LMP2 entry in 2019-20.

The Italian team has been a regular in the European Le Mans Series in recent seasons but revealed on Thursday that it has finalized plans to step up to WEC later this year.

Team principal Raimondo Amadio told Sportscar365 at last year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans that he was considering expanding into WEC on a wider basis.

Cetilar Racing will run a Dallara P217 Gibson for the 2019-20 campaign with Andrea Belicchi, Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto sharing driving duties.

All three drivers have previously competed for the team in ELMS competition.

The team has also filed an entry request for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, which serves as the final round of the 2018-19 ‘Super Season’, and is also set to enter the ELMS round at Monza in May.

Its WEC program gets underway with the Four Hours of Silverstone on Sept. 1.
