Audi squad HAAS RT scored victory in the Michelin 12H Misano, defeating the pole-winning Proton Huber Competition Porsche.
The No. 21 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II shared by Peter Guelinckx, Jef Machiels and Matisse Lismont beating the No. 73 Porsche 911 GT3 R by almost a minute, following up its maiden win in GT3 competition in 2024 at Mugello.
It was also the second consecutive win at Misano for Audi machinery after Sainteloc Junior Team’s victory in the inaugural edition last year.
Proton Huber quartet Jorg Dreisow, Manuel Lauck, Klaus Bachler and Constantin Dressler scored Pro-Am honors despite missing out on the overall win, while the overall podium was completed by the No. 93 RedAnt Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Yannick and Ayrton Redant, Kobe de Breucker and Kenneth Heyer, which finished two laps behind.
The No. 21 Audi, started by Lismont, was a contender from the very beginning of the race, quickly moving up from fourth to second at the start, with Machiels later grabbing the lead from the Scuderia Praha Ferrari 296 GT3 on lap 48 at the hairpin.
At the four-hour mark, HAAS RT had cemented its control of the race, with the RedAnt Mercedes-AMG giving chase, but with the Proton Huber Porsche moving back into second place by the halfway mark with some stunning pace from Bachler.
The positions among the top three remained unchanged as darkness fell over Misano, with Lismont taking the checkered flag 59.324 seconds ahead of Bachler.
Three laps behind the RedAnt Mercedes, the No. 71 Juta Racing Audi was fourth overall, taking the Am class win with Tim Muller, Nicola Michelon and Arunas Geciauskas.
Fifth overall and second in Pro-Am was the Scuderia Praha Ferrari driven by Miroslav and Matus Vyboh, ex-GP2 racer Josef Kral and Dennis Waszek.
Alexander and Chantal Prinz, Michael Kroll and Maximilian Partl completed the top six overall in the Am class-entered No. 11 Hofor Racing Mercedes-AMG.
Era Motorsport’s No. 81 Ferrari slipped to eighth after a long stop for a replacement power steering pump, but still completed the Pro-Am podium.
A hard-fought 992 class win was taken by Van Berlo Motorsport by Bas Koeten Racing, with brothers Glenn and Kay van Berlo and their father Marcel finishing seventh overall and seven laps clear of their nearest challenger, RPM Racing.
The sole GT4 car in the field, the No. 421 Venture Mercedes-AMG GT4, was 13th overall.
The penultimate round of the Michelin 24H Series is set to take place on July 5 at Paul Ricard following a six-week break.
