Martin Joins GetSpeed Team PCX for 24H Barcelona

Mercedes-AMG factory star Maxime Martin will compete in the season finale of the Michelin 24H European Series this weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The Belgian GT ace will drive the title-contending No. 28 GetSpeed Team PCX Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the Michelin 24H Barcelona, the only non-stop race on the European calendar.

Martin will be joined by full-season drivers Patrick Charlaix, Jordan Boisson and Benjamin Paque, as well as Cesar Gazeau.

The Team PCX crew currently sits fourth in the overall championship standings and tops the tables in the GT3 Pro-Am class, but the No. 28 machine is yet to take an overall win this year.

Its sister car – the No. 286 GetSpeed Team JR286 Mercedes-AMG – currently leads the overall championship and the GT3-Am class points table.

GetSpeed founder Adam Osieka will rejoin regular Team JR286 drivers Patrick Liddy, Steve Jans, Jonathan Hirshberg and Tanner Harvey in Barcelona.

Just ten points behind is Sainteloc Junior Team’s No. 18 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II. The 12H Mugello winners will field Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart, Michael Doppelmayr, Ernst Inderbitzin and Stephane Tribaudini.

Mercedes-AMG also inhabits third place on the overall leaderboard with 12H Paul Ricard winners Hofor Racing. The Swiss team will enter the a familiar driver lineup of Torsten Kratz, Maximilian Partl, husband and wife duo Alexander and Chantal Prinz, and Chantal’s father Michael Kroll.

Joel Sturm is another factory-supported talent expected to be on the Barcelona grid. The Porsche-contracted driver will headline Proton Competition’s lineup alongside Manuel Lauck, Lucas Wolf and Jörg Dreisow.

With 60 points on offer over the weekend, Proton is still in contention to retain its teams’ championship title. The No. 73 Porsche 911 GT3 R has suffered a winless season so far.

After taking a podium on debut at the Nürburgring in July, the No. 88 Up2Race Porsche will return in Barcelona.

Tim Heinemann will once again race with the German team after an impressive drive last time out which went a long way to securing the team’s second-place result. Heinemann will be joined by Fabio Grosse, Alfred Renauer and Oleksiy Kikireshko.

Era Motorsport will expand its driver squad to include team founder Kyle Tilley. The Rolex 24 at Daytona class winner will join full season drivers Ryan Dalziel, Jake Hill, Dwight Merriman and Oliver Bryant in the No. 81 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo.

Gamota Racing also revealed a stacked lineup for its debut in Creventic competition with the No. 500 BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

Nürburgring 24 winners Jesse Krohn and Felipe Fernandez Laser will drive alongside team owner Antal Zsigo, David Jahn and Moritz Kranz.

The Slovakian team was only formed earlier this year and has impressed across several GT racing series so far, including with a pole position in NLS8 at the Nürburgring last weekend.

In 992, Red Camel-Jordans.nl come to Barcelona fresh from a win in the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup at Spa. Brothers Luc and Rik Breukers, their father Ivo and Fabian Danz will pilot the No. 909 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

The Red Camel crew tops the class standings with an advantage of 24 points to Mühlner Motorsport. Conrad Tox Leveau, Martin Rump and Joshua Bednarski are so far confirmed in Mühlner’s No. 921 entry.

992-Am class leaders HRT Performance will field its usual driver crew of Steven Gambrell, Igor Sorokin, Jonathan Kearney and James Kellett.

GTX points leaders Vortex V8 appeared on the revised entry list. The No. 701 Vortex 2.0 holds a massive lead in the class and comfortably took the title at the 12H Nürburgring. It is the only car entered in its class so far.

The TCE-TCX class will see a further seven entries, with just four points separating title contenders asBest’s No. 102 Seat Leon Cup Racer and the No. 114 Not Only Motorsport Ligier JS2 R at the top of the class standings.

The 34-strong grid will kick off the weekend’s action with qualifying on Friday afternoon before the race start at 12 p.m. local time (7 a.m. EST) on Saturday with live coverage on Creventic Motorsports TV YouTube channel featuring Radio Show Limited commentary.
