Car Collection Motorsport will head into next weekend’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai with a strong lineup for its pair of Audi R8 LMS cars, with the German squad confirming the addition of Claudia Hurtgen to the No. 33 car.
The former race winner will join Audi Sport customer racing driver Markus Winkelhock, Pierre Ehret, Heinz Schmersal and team owner Peter Schmidt.
“We are very pleased that we have with Claudia and Markus, two absolute top drivers and outspoken GT3 experts on our car,” Schmidt said. “They will be able to assist us in our first race with our two Audi R8 LMS.”
Hurtgen got her first laps in the new-generation mid-engined sports car last month at Hockenheim.
The team’s second Audi will be driven by Johannes Kirchhoff, Gustav Edelhoff, Elmar Grimm, Max Edelhoff and Ingo Vogler.
A total of six new R8 LMS cars are entered, including entries from Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, C.ABT Racing, Optimum Motorsport and Land-Motorsport, marking the strongest-ever presence by the German manufacturer for this race.
