The Prototype Cup Europe series will expand to five events next year, with the Red Bull Ring and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya set to join its 2027 calendar.
The LMP3-based series, which is organized by Creventic in partnership with the ACO and Michelin, will enter its second season after a successful debut in 2026.
All but one of the scheduled rounds will act as support races to Creventic’s Michelin 24H European Series, which will also race at Austria’s Red Bull Ring for the first time next year.
These four events have been ratified and approved by the ACO, but an as-of-yet unconfirmed race will be announced in due course to complete the five-round calendar.
This event is expected to be a standalone race weekend which will take place during the summer, much like this year’s race at Monza which was held at the end of July.
The season will kick off at Mugello in late March, with Round 2 coming at Spa a few weeks later.
The series will make its debut at the Red Bull Ring in mid-May. Its predecessor, Prototype Cup Germany, previously held its season finale at the 2.688-mile circuit in 2025.
Next year’s season will be rounded out on the same weekend as the 24H European Series finale in Barcelona.
This is a deviation from the 2026 calendar, which will wrap-up at the beginning of September as a support race for the Michelin 992 Endurance Cup.
In its inaugural season, each event consisted of a pair of 55-minute races, but details for the format of next year’s race weekends have not yet been confirmed.
Each of the 24H Series weekends will include a pair or CR Track Days which will give teams extra practice time ahead of the races.
“We are excited to announce next year’s calendar. The step from a national series to a European championship has been well received by our teams and drivers,” said series coordinator Orry Lichtenberg.
“We already have commitments from several teams for the upcoming season, and we are confident that the grids will continue to grow in 2027.
“We are excited to visit new venues and be part of the 24H Series weekends, which provide plenty of track time thanks to the track days held ahead of each event.
“We are also considering some small adjustments to the regulations to improve the racing and the overall competition between the different line-ups.”
