Matteo Cairoli reeled off a late flyer to go quickest in the second practice session in Macau for the FIA GT World Cup.

The Italian, making his first appearance at the Guia Circuit, recorded a chart-topping 2:15.532 in the No. 120 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R to edge out Raffaele Marciello by 0.033 seconds.

Times tumbled in the closing minutes of the 30-minute session, which started a half-hour late due to a red flag-filled F3 qualifying session.

Marciello’s 2:15.565 lap was just 0.003 seconds faster than fellow Mercedes-AMG driver Dani Juncadella, who was third in his Craft-Bamboo entry.

Daniel Serra put the lone Ferrari 296 GT3 fourth on the time charts, with countryman Augusto Farfus completing the top-five in the No. 11 ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3.

Sheldon van der Linde, Edoardo Mortara, Maro Engel, Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber completed the top-ten.

As was the case in the opening session, there were no significant incidents or red flags.

Qualifying is next up, scheduled for a 2:05 p.m. local start time on Friday.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
