Gulf 12 Hours promoter Driving Force Events Ltd. has revealed an updated provisional entry list for the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi event in December.
All GT3 entries have been taken up, with new requests to enter the race to be placed on a reserve list. The GTX category for GT4 cars, which had two Nova Race Ginettas and the Yas Marina Circuit Aston Martin GT4 entered, has been dropped to allow more GT3 teams to enter.
ENTRY LIST: Gulf 12 Hours
The newly confirmed teams for the race include a pair of Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3s, which will join the already confirmed Leonard Motorsport Vantage. A fourth Aston Martin is still on the ‘reserved’ list, for teams that have yet to formally announce their programs.
Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race winners Clearwater Racing have also been added to the list of confirmed entries, the Singapore-based team entering one of its Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 cars.
Gulf Racing and MRS GT-Racing have also confirmed their participation again.
The UK-based squad will race its Lamborghini Gallardo and a McLaren, while MRS GT-Racing will bring its McLaren and two Porsche Cup cars. European Le Mans Series squad Team Russia by Barwell will run its BMW Z4 GT3.
Six other GT3 cars are still on the reserved list (1 Audi, 1 Bentley, 3 McLarens and 1 Mercedes). One entry is still available in the Ferrari Challenge and another one in the Porsche 991 Cup class.
Nova Race’s Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 has disappeared from the provisional entry list.
The current list features 45 cars, although the race entry capped at 40 for logistical reasons.
