BWT Muecke Motorsport will make its debut appearance at the Nürburgring 24 this May with a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3s and an all-star driver lineup.
This comes after the team completed its first 24-hour endurance race with the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai in January.
One of the cars will be supported by Audi Sport Customer Racing and driven by Christopher Haase, 2017 winner Markus Winkelhock and likely two other, yet to be announced, drivers.
Furthermore, the team will run a second car, run as a private entry without Audi factory support, and driven by Stefan Muecke, Christer Joens, Marcel Fassler and Pierre Kaffer.
Ford works driver Muecke competed with HTP Motorsport in the race last year and joins Audi regulars Fassler and Kaffer along with Joens, who raced with Bentley Team ABT in 2017.
“It’s a great honor for BWT Muecke Motorsport to be able to compete as an Audi Sport team in this legendary race,” said Team Principal Peter Muecke.
“2018 marks the start of only our second season in the sports car sector with the Audi R8 LMS and we are immensely proud that our efforts and achievements have now been acknowledged by such a famous manufacturer.
“BWT Muecke Motorsport are used to working with a large factory after many years in the DTM, and we will do our utmost to live up to expectations.”
