Nürburgring 24 winner David Pittard will drive a Falken Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R in this weekend’s six-hour NLS round at the German circuit.

Pittard won the N24 in May sharing a Frikadelli Racing Team Ferrari 296 GT3 with Nicky Catsburg, Earl Bamber and Felipe Fernandez Laser, but will transition to a different type of car for the ADAC Ruhr Cup.

The British driver is set to pilot the No. 3 Falken Porsche alongside Joel Eriksson, marking his debut with the Schnabl Engineering-run team.

Martin Ragginger and Dennis Fetzer, who is another new Falken signing, will form the No. 4 Porsche pairing.

Falken has needed to bring in new drivers to complete its lineups for the six-hour enduro because the rest of its Nürburgring roster has other commitments this weekend.

Klaus Bachler is driving for Pfaff Motorsports in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, while Alessio Picariello is representing Iron Lynx in the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Monza.

Tim Heinemann is in DTM action at the Norisring, where Sven Mueller and Nico Menzel are also racing as part of the ADAC GT Masters entry.

“Firstly, a big thanks to Falken, Stefanie [Olbertz] and Sven [Schnabl] for having me on board,” said Pittard.

“I’m looking forward to driving alongside Joel and sampling the new 992 GT3R in the iconic Falken livery! I think I can add to the program with my extensive knowledge of car and tire manufacturers at the Nürburgring.

“Joel won on his debut with Falken last year – and I’m hoping to repeat that success myself, this weekend.”

One of Pittard’s co-drivers for the N24 victory, Fernandez Laser, is also in Nürburgring action this weekend driving a Frikadelli-run Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

The two Falken Porsches form part of a 10-car grid in the top SP9 class, which also includes Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche machinery.

Christian Krognes and Jakub Giermaziak are aiming for their second consecutive victory in the No. 34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3, as part of a two-car entry for the German squad.

Off the back of a CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa overall podium last weekend, Scherer Sport PHX is fielding a single Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II for Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler.

A total of 118 cars are signed up for Saturday’s NLS race. Among the competitors in the other classes are ST Racing’s Samantha Tan and Jon Miller, who are sharing a Schnitzelalm Racing BMW M240i Racing Cup with American driver Bryson Morris in AT.

Additionally, European Le Mans Series LMP2 driver Manuel Maldonado and former DTM racer Dev Gore are in a Hyundai i30N racing in VT2-FWD.
