Laurens Vanthoor set the pace in the second and final qualifying practice session for the Nürburgring 24 with a flier late in the Friday afternoon session.

Driving the No. 911 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, Vanthoor lapped the Nordschleife in 8:18.449 to go to the top spot after the checkered flag flew following 1 hour, 50 minutes of running.

Exactly which cars have made their way into this evening’s Top-Qualifying is still unclear, with the remaining positions decided based on sector times from across both qualifying sessions

Data concerning sector times and theoretical laps is unavailable to the public and media, meaning it has to be communicated by race organizers.

Top-Qualifying will take place at 7 p.m. local time (1 p.m. EDT), and a full list of entrants is expected to be published soon.

Marco Mapelli sat at the top of the timesheets for most of the session after a quick lap time in his Konrad Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, although Vanthoor’s time displaced him by 1.003 seconds.

Pierre Kaffer took his Audi Sport Team Phoenix car to third, while Maro Engel made it four manufacturers in the top four with his Mercedes-AMG Team Black Falcon entry.

The session ran relatively clean with no major incidents.
