Audi Sport has added Frederic Vervisch and Dries Vanthoor to its GT3 customer racing factory driver roster for 2018 after successful seasons for both drivers.
Nineteen-year-old Vanthoor competed with Belgian Audi Club Team WRT in the Blancpain GT Series this year, winning two Sprint Cup races.
He was also part of JMW Motorsport’s GTE-Am-winning lineup at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ferrari 488 GT3.
Vervisch, meanwhile, competed in the Audi RS 3 LMS TCR car in the TCR International Series, as well as making several GT3 appearances.
They join existing factory drivers Rahel Frey, Christoper Haase, Robin Frijns, Pierre Kaffer, Kelvin van der Linde, Christopher Mies, Frank Stippler and Markus Winkelhock.
Driver allocations to teams have yet to be fully determined, according to Head of Audi Sport customer racing Chris Reinke, who confirmed a continued focus on the Nürburgring 24, Total 24 Hours of Spa, as well as the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
The German manufacturer supported multiple factory backed entries in those events this year, with Winkelhock and Audi winning the IGTC titles, and Audi Sport Team Land and Saintéloc picking up victories at the Nürburgring and Spa, respectively.
