Aurora Straus returns to pro racing this weekend in the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series at Watkins Glen.

Straus is just one of a number of new entrants for Round 3 of the championship, which is being held during the Finger Lakes Wine Festival along with Masters Historic Racing.

Straus, who is part of the Richard Mille young driver program, missed Round 1 at Barber and Round 2 at Road America to complete her final exams at Harvard University where she’s graduating with high honors, majoring in history and literature, and minoring in government.

Following partial seasons racing GT cars in SRO and IMSA, Straus recognized the Blue Marble Radical Cup’s “high-level competition between a diverse set of drivers, exposure in front of IndyCar crowds, bucket-list tracks and unparalleled value” and is using her time in the series to “prepare for high-level prototype sports car racing.”

Straus completes a five-car line-up from Radical New York/Group-A Racing, which also includes Reece Everard (Wicked Sweet), who has won a race at each of the opening rounds and is just two points shy of Pro 1500 points leader Gustavo Rafols (WISKO Racing).

The depth of talent in the class for 1500cc variants of the Radical SR3 has been further boosted with the return of Ryan Bjerke (MEJI Enterprise), who clinched a podium in his previous Cup outing at New Jersey last year.

The Pro 1340 class features not one, but two Canadians this weekend, as TWOth Autosport’s Huw Leahy– a regular in the Emzone Radical Cup Canada series, joins Canadian champion Austin Riley (Racing with Autism).

Riley currently sits second in the points behind reigning class champ Mike Anzaldi (Emmett’s Energy/RYNO Racing) and just head of Group-A’s Reid Stewart (Fasano Textiles).

Louis Schriber (Shorewood Development/RYNO Racing) leads the Platinum class points after Road America, but the highly competitive class for Radical’s 435bhp turbocharged SR10 model is full of potential race winners from rookie Robert Rossi (Carpet Giant/WISKO Racing), to former ALMS LMP1 champion Jon Field (Bricker Design/Scott Wagner Racing), Steve Jenks (Audien Hearing/Group-A) and 2021 class champ Indy Al Miller (Blue Marble/ONE Motorsport).

Qualifying takes place at 9:05 a.m. ET Friday, before Race 1 at 8:25 a.m. on Saturday, Race 2 at 7:35 a.m. Sunday and Race 3 at 10:20 a.m.
