With three rounds of Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series remaining, teams and competitors will head west for the first time this season to the famed high-speed Utah Motorsports Campus.

The Aug. 12-14 event will be an important one, with championship battles taking shape, drivers looking to assert themselves as title contenders and others who will look to make a late-season charge.

Leading the Platinum class into Grantsville, Utah is Wisko Racing’s Robert Rossi (Carpet Giant) who enters the event weekend 41 markers over Group-A Racing’s Steve Jenks (Audien Hearing) and 71 points clear of Judd Miller (Esses Racing / Radical Texas).

Former American Le Mans champion Jon Field makes his debut with Las Vegas based One Motorsports this weekend after pulling his Bricker Home Design-sponsored SR10 from Scott Wagner Racing. He is hoping his move brings him back into the title fight. Currently he sits only two points shy of Miller and just 73 back from Rossi.

Wagner himself is locked in tight battle for sixth in championship with Jim Booth (McDonald’s / WISKO Racing).

In the Pro 1500 class, Group-A Racing’s Reece Everard (Wicked Sweet) was expected to descend on Utah as not only the Pro 1500 class point leader, but the outright champions point leader as well.

However, crash damage sustained at Watkins Glen curtailed his plans for this weekend and the young-gun has already turned his focus to the Sept. 16-18 round at COTA.

This gives second-place runner, Esses Racing’s Palmer Miller an opportunity to catch up and eclipse Everard in what has effectively become a two-horse race for the title.

The battle for third through seventh in the points chase is a tight one with drivers separated by just 48 points, led by Esses Racing’s Kent Myers.

A late entrant coming from the Radical Northwest/Cameron Racing outfit will be the #5 entry of Dan Decker. Decker will make his series debut this weekend in Utah as he looks to fight his way to the front of the Pro 1500 class.

Racing with Autism’s Austin Riley (SparkPower) leads the Pro 1340 class, following a perfect weekend at Watkins Glen, where he took a trifecta of victories, pole positions and fastest laps.

However, reigning champion Mike Anzaldi (Emmett’s Energy/RYNO Racing) sits just nine points behind Riley and will be looking to capture back the championship lead at the Campus.

Reid Stewart (Fasano Textiles/Group-A Racing) is not one to count out either. Just 35 points further back from Anzaldi, he’s played runner-up four times this year and proved he has the pace to end up on the top step of the podium.

Blue Marble Radical Cup North America teams and competitors will hit the track on Friday for four practice sessions prior to qualifying and the first two wheel-to-wheel races on Saturday, at 11:20am and 3:50pm local (MDT).

Race 3 of the weekend will take place oat 9:30am (MDT) Sunday morning to close out the weekend. All three races will be livestreamed at youtube.com/radicalmotorsport.
