The start of the second ADAC GT Masters race from Oschersleben saw a massive accident involving several cars, including the No. 11 Prosperia C. Abt Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra of Nick Thiim, who barrel-rolled his mid-engined sports car after making hard impact with the wall.
Thiim, a newly signed Audi factory GT driver and fresh off GTE-Am class victory in last weekend’s FIA WEC Six Hours of Silverstone, was evaluated and released from the medical center, according to series’ official Twitter account.
Sportscar365 will have a full recap of the season-opening GT Masters round in tomorrow’s “Weekend Racing Roundup.”
