Alex Peroni and Mark Rosser will once again team up at the wheel of Team BRM’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II for this year’s GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS.
The pair will be targeting Pro-Am honors as they seek to build on an encouraging 2024 campaign in which they placed fifth overall with two wins at Queensland Raceway and in the final race of the season at Bathurst.
Peroni, who raced in the FIA Formula 3 championship and Indy Lights before switching to sports cars in 2022, is confident that the No. 268 Audi will be a regular fixture towards the head of the field in his second season together with Rosser.
“We had a difficult start to the season in 2024, which was semi-expected as it was the first time Mark had been teamed up with a Pro driver in the series and the level went up,” commented the 25-year-old Tasmanian.
“We took a while to gel, even for me I hadn’t driven any of the tracks, never raced an Audi and had limited GT experience, so I needed to build up to [it].
“Things started clicking with the team between Mark, myself and the team. We changed some things in testing and by the end of the season I felt like we were consistently competitive, which is always the goal.
“We’re definitely in a better position than this time last year. We’re a lot better prepared and we can focus on developing ourselves as drivers together with the car further, but you can’t stand still in this sport and we have to keep pressing forward.”
Rosser added, for his part, that he will be “disappointed if we’re not competing for podiums at every round” owing to the team’s improved preparation heading into 2025.
“We had a good test to get us underway, so we’re well ahead at the same time last year in terms of Marcus Koch on the engineering side, as well as myself and Alex on the driving side,” he continued.
“We’re looking forward to the season, especially Shell V-Power Motorsport Park [The Bend] due to it being run on the usual configuration this time where we do our testing, so we should have a home track advantage at that round.
“We should be pretty strong and I hope it will be a good season overall.”
